Managed by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber and the Santa Barbara County Workforce Development Board, the Build Your Workforce program connects businesses to funding & additional assistance available for hiring, upskilling, and providing work experience.
- Hire Full Time Employees: 50% of wages covered for new employees (1,000 hours or up to 6 months).
- Train, Upskill & Promote Existing Employees: Partial funding available for training, upskilling & promoting your existing workforce. (Funding based on business size.)
- Provide Temporary Employment/ Paid Work Experience: 100% of wages covered for paid work experience & internship programs (ages 16-24, total hours covered varies by program)
